F1 Black Goldendoodles 3 weeks old

Well the pups are 3 weeks old now. They all were weighed and photo graphed today. They all have their eyes and ears open too and are starting to walk around. They are SO tiny! These are our smallest Goldendoodles ever and I am just surprised!!

F1 Goldendoodles 5 weeks old

Well today everyone is 5 weeks old. They will no longer be bursing and they are on soaked kibble 5 times a day. They are loving it!! Everyone got weighed and photographed today. Puppy picks start this week and are done by next Friday so we will be taking the photos of the ones picked off the website as its done...Next week they will go for their check up and get their micro chips AND their first puppy shots!!

F1 Goldendoodles 2 weeks old

Well they are two weeks old now...everyone has their eyes open and they were all weighed and dewormed today for the first time! New pictures were sent out to their puppy parents!

Well the pups are now 4 weeks and look and act like puppies! Everyone has their eyes open and are walking and even climbing out of the whelping pen!! They had their first first experience licking milk from a bowl yesterday and we will slowly be adding more and more.
Everyone got weighed today and dewormed for the second time!

Today they are 1 week old so everyone got weighed and their photo taken! Pretty much just squirming around at this point...eyes and ears open at about 14 days so this week we are all about nursing and growing! Pics will be on the website today!!

F1 Goldendoodles 3 weeks old...

OK...Yes I know Picture Day is supposed to be Friday but with a second litter born on Friday I cant get it all done in one day...so they will now be done on Thursday! Hey-Its a day earlier...you get your pictures a whole day earlier..cool, huh?

Well evertyone is crawling instead of scooting now. They all have their eyes at least partially opened now too. Today everyone got weighed and we tried to do individual photos but they are still just a bit young. Individual shots WILL be done starting next week for sure though! This week its all about learning to walk, seeing and hearing...

F1 Goldendoodles 4 days to go...

Well...First of all...WHAT HAPPENED TO YESTERDAYS POST?? I know I did it.
Did I forget to push PUBLISH? ARGH
Well yeaterday she was 99.5 today 98.4. If it wasnt still 4 days off I would be pretty suspicious...but with 4 days left still I think she will go back up tomorrow...like I said it is not a foolproof method. I just dont think it will be today or tomorrow...
But...I will keep you posted!

Multi Gens 8 weeks old...going...going...

Well the pups turned 8 weeks old yesterday...SO far Twix, Hershey, Nestle and Musketeer have gone to their new homes...Snickers will be leaving on Saturday and Peppermint Patty is still waiting to be adopted. Looks like I WILL be potty training afterall!! HAHAHA

F1 Goldendoodles 6 days to go...

Well temperature is 100.4 (not that I was expecting it to be any lower!). Generally dogs deliver maybe a day early or two days late..not much outside that range. That being said...not expecting puppies for at least 5 more days (but we will still keep you posted!!)

F1 Goldendoodles Due in 1 week

Well just 7 more days till Karma is due. This is when we start taking daily temperatures...Dogs show really no signs of early labor and you dont really see anything until maybe an hour before the first comes...if you are lucky. The best predictor (but doesnt always work) is body temperature. USUALLY a females temp will drop to about 98 or lower 12-24 hours before they start hard labor...Lets hope it works with Karma. We will be making daily postings now until they come...stay tuned!

F1 Goldendoodles 1 week...

Well the puppies are a week old now! Honestly-cant say they look a whole lot different...maybe a bit bigger. Next week the ears and eyes will open and then after that they will be walking. Fir now they are still squirming and nursing!!
Everyone got weighed, new pictures added to our website.

Multi Gens 7 down...1 to go.....

Well the pups are now 7 weeks old. They are starting on just solid kibble now, no broth . They are also being fed just three times a day. They all will go to the vet tomorrow for a check up, and are getting dewormed one more time (as a precaution). Starting next week they will be going home.....The first and last are always the hardest for us!

F1 GOLDENDOODLES OVERDUE!

OK, well Shayla was due yesterday. I was up at least every two hours all night checking on her and she was restless, hanging out in her box and there was a lot of licking..when we went potty this morning she was digging in the yard...but still NOTHING. Her temp is 99.8 and I am confidant it will start today...just not sure when...I really have to run to the store and get some milk. I know as soon as I leave she will start so I will wait till my daughter can stay with her. Guess we wont be going to Karate tonight!!

WOW..id only it worked that day. If only we awoke this morning knowing that at 12 noon the puppies would be born...If only...
Well temp is 100.1. She has been very restless this morning..I even got up several times in the night to check on her I had hoped to have SOMETHING to report today..but no such luck. It looks really good though that it may start tonight. She is very restless and wanting to go out a lot-which means pressure down there...I feel like it will start probably tonight-with my luck it will be the middle of the night so I am up ALL night.
If anything happens I will let you know...

Multi Gens 6 weeks old...Only 2 more to go...

Wow only two more weeks to get prepared people!!!

They all got weighed, dewormed and their first shots today! Some did not gain any weight, some just a little as this is the first week they were fully weaned and they got a bit lazy (it was much easier to drink the high fat goats milk!!) It is normal though and they will catch up...Making some gravy to add on top and get them more interested in their food. Went out a little more this week for short periods, they are loving the grass and playing tug o war with the rope bones...highly recommend them!! Only one not adopted is Pepermint Patty...Heres her picture-she is such a sweetie!

Well Shaylas temp is 100. again. She was panting a lot yesterday...and a lot this morning...but still no actual labor. Last time she went to her actual due date...That would be tomorrow!!

Well her temp today is 101. She was acting suspicious last night though. Enough so that I left my oldest daughter to watch her while I ran my son to his soccer game (only 5 minutes away). She was armed with a cell phone and a land line and we texted back and forth for the whole game...but nothing. So far today...nothing..no signs...cant be too much longer though!

Well today her temp is 100.00. I was actually expecting it to be lower...I cant imagine she is going to hold out much larger she is HUGE...Have I mentioned that already???

Sorry I missed two days of posting!!!

My husband had a gall bladder attack and spent 6 days in the hospital and finally surgery so we were just back and forth all the time-then taking care of him. I did NOT neglect Shayla-I did take her temperature everyday and she was not ready (nor showing any true signs). SHe is BIG though...poor girl and I am pretty sure she is ready to get them out!!

I will post today as usual with her temperature!!

Well Shaylas temperature is 100.2 today. She is miserable...and any of you who have been pregnant know exactly what I am saying!! It wouldnt surprise me if she went early...she is panting a lot, but no nesting yet and temp is still high!
Guess we will wait it out...(as if we have a choice!!)

Mama is doing fine-BIG, but fine. Temperature is 100.5 so not expecting puppies tonight or tomorrow (but wasnt really anyways.). Her last litter was born ON her due date, and dogs typically do not go more than 1 or 2 days before or after.

Well the pups are 5 weeks old and weaned from Mama. They are eating very good with the soaked food five times a day. They are really starting to play now!! This is "allocation" week so the puppy parents will start making their choices of which pup! We have just one male left and the only little girl...Peppermint Patty. Everybody was weighed again today and new pictures taken...they will be posted on the website a little later today!

Well Today Shayla got her last pre birth bath...we will get her maternity cut tomorrow and start charting her temperature then too. By the Way...She is HUGE! Poor girl!!

F1 GOLDENDOODLES DUE SEPTEMBER 17th-TWO WEEKS to go...

Well only two weeks to go...I cant wait!! Mama is ready too. She is getting really big. On Tuesday Mama will get her last pre birth bath and her belly shaved (so the pups can find the milk easier). We will also start taking her temperature and charting it. A dogs temperature is normal at about 101 and usually they will have a significant drop 12-24 hours before they deliver. Thats usually...but not always. Other then that there is really no other hint that they are in pre labor. By the time they start nesting and panting its only hours to go.
Last pregnancy she gave birth ON her due date and her temperature did drop 36 hours before birth...so ...we will see!

Multi Gens 4 weeks old...Only 4 more to go...

Well 4 weeks already...one month down and one to go! The pups are all drinking very well and just had their first "meal" of VERY well soaked puppy kibble. Natural Balance-Excellent formula food! They are really growing now. We will start adding more and more food to their day and less and less Mama and by next week it will be time for them to be weaned completely. Everyone got weighed and dewormed for a second time-and pics will be emailed and posted on our website within the next few hours!!

Heres Patty though for now...Thats a face you cant say NO to!!

Multi Gens 3 weeks old...

Wow what a difference a week makes. They all look and act like puppies now..climbing and playing and causing trouble already!! Boy that Peppermint Patty has to be tough to keep up with all those boys!

Everyone was weighed today and new photos were sent out. We will start giving them some formula now just to get them used to drinking but still nursing from Mama as well.

Multi Gens 2 weeks old...

Well the puppies are two weeks old. All their eyes are open and they are starting to walk around instead of slither! Good news for me because now when they get "lost" in the box at night they can find their way back to Mama without waking me up! Bad thing though is Hershey (trouble maker!!) has found the exit and is trying to climb out already!!!
Everyone got weighed and dewormed today. Of course my camera battery dies in the middle of the photo session...so pictures will be up on the web later today!

Multi Gens 1+ weeks...Eyes are opening...

The puppies are starting to open their eyes! YEAH!! AS of today both Hershey and Musketeer have theirs open! Hopefully now Hershey wont get "lost" in the whelping box so much now, and cry and cry and wake me up at night to move him!!!

Multi Gens 1 week old...

Well today the puppies turned one week old. Not many changes in their appearance. Eyes and ears are still closed, they were all weighed, got micro chipped, and received their collars. New pictures are posted on our website at: www.mustardseeddoodles.com.

Multi Gens HAVE ARRIVED!!!

Wow, just one day after their due date too. SO much for the temperature thing, right? She was acting weird though and I DID mention that yesterday.
Well they arrived in this order:

3:28AM Male, Cream, "Twix"

3:41AM Male, Cream, "Musketeer"

3:53AM Male, Tan/Fawn, "Hershey"

4:18AM Female, Black, "Peppermint Patty"

5:30AM Male, Black, "Nestle"

5:36AM Male, Tan/Fawn, "Snickers"

The chocolate candy bar names was due to the fact we were EXPECTING chocolate doodles!! Cadence tested homozygous for brown, so I guess just a bad roll of the dice that we didnt get chocolate expressed. I say expressed because several carry the brown gene we can tell because they have the "rose" colored nose.

Picture Day will be Wednesdays so our buyers will get new photos every Wednesday as well as our website will be updated. These beauties will be ready to go home on or after Wednesday September 30th.

Multi Gens COUNTDOWN DUE DATE!!!

Well unfortunately I dont think it will happen on the due date. I was hopeful though as she has been a bit odd acting-hiding in dark corners and not moving around much at all...but temp is 99.1. No real nesting behavior yet either. However this is good news for me as we have errands to do today and I wouldnt get them done if I thought it was close.

ok, now that we have the ACTUAL number of days left correct...
Temp is 99.6 today. DOubt they will be born on their due date. Last time she was overdue by three days when she went into labor-so ...we WAIT....

OMG-Where did I learn to count???

How come nobody mentioned that my addition was off??? If the pups are due on August 4th and today is August 2...that means two days....NOT four. I went back and checked my records...due date is the 4th so only two more days to go-WOW!!! She could go at anytime now...now I am freaking out...I thought I had four more days...YIKES!

OK, I am calm now. Its all good, I am already ready anyways so no biggie...whelping box is and has been in place, all my supplies are out, Jazzmine is ready I think...She has been acting a bit weird today.

Good News: Only have to wait 1/2 as long as I was previously reporting!!!

Multi Gens COUNTDOWN 4 days...

Temp today is 99.3. She is starting staying in the corners a lot lately-trying to get some privacy. No nesting behaviors yet. Most dogs dont show any outward signs though until just hours before birth...thats why we do the temperature taking-so we dont miss it altogether.

My calendar is as clear as I could make it...Big kids are going to 4H camp...little kid may or may not make soccer and Karate this week...all depends on Jazzmine. I wont leave her alone if I think there is a chance it may happen soon. On a side note we will be plugging in an incubator and trying to hatch chickens at the same time also ...maybe I should start a blog for them too!!

Todays temp is 99.7...For some reason all my females get absolutely RAVENOUS for human food late stage pregnancy. Dogs that never steal food suddenly climb up the counters for any scraps....

Well temp today is 99.8. Mama is getting very nocturnal (which is normal) eating pretty much only at night and being very restless at night (kinda keeping me up as she sleeps in my room). I swear I lose more sleep then she does once they are born anyways!!

Well her temp today was 98.4. Granted that is pretty low but its too soon. I will keep an extra eye on her today and tonight but dont get your hopes up...the reason we start taking the temp early is some fluctuation is expected...maybe in this case it is operator error...

OK-retook it because she was real squirmy the first time and maybe I didnt do it right..99.3. Thats more like it...just as I thought...

Well we have 10 days to go so time to start taking daily temps. The average temp for a dog is 101 and most dogs will have a significant drop in temperature about 24 hours before labor. Jazzmine usually runs in the 99 range as normal so for her we are looking for a temp of 98 or lower...
Todays temp is 99.9..so we keep waiting....stay tuned for tomorrows temperature...

Multi Gens Due August 4 2009...

Mama went to the Doctor today for her ultrasound and it was confirmed! 6 possibly 7 puppies with healthy heartbeats. They were all about 3 cm except one big one was 4 cm....now we get to just wait for them to finish growing!!

This will be Cadences very first litter and we just cant wait to see what he will sire! Its going to be a long two months for me...Its been along time for those who have reserved their pups too...some have been waiting 6 months for theirs!!

Well today they are 8 weeks old. My how time flies! They all received their second puppy shot and their last deworming too. Several have gone home...and a few more pick ups scheduled....

F1b Goldendoodles-Going...Going...

Well yesterday Lucy and Dexter went to their new homes. This morning Lacey and Monroe left, and tonight Sophia May goes home. That leaves just Dexi and she goes home next Thursday...but dont worry-we still have F1 Doodles here for her to play with so she is not lonely!!

F1 Goldendoodles-7 weeks-the final countdown..

One week left to go home!! The puppies are playing (and pooping!!). They are eating just solid kibble-not being soaked and three times a day. Their final pictures were taken today because next week they will be going home!!!

F1B Goldendoodles..the home stretch...

Well, the pups are now 7 weeks old and will go home starting next Friday. I cant believe its almost over. They are geting so big and range in weight from 5-7 pounds now. They are eating three times a day starting this week and will be weaned onto just dry kibble too. Everyone went to the vet yesterday to check eyes, ears, hearts and umbilical stumps. Everyone got a clean bill of health.

F1 Goldendoodles-6 weeks down..2 to go..

Well the puppies got dewormed again and received their first puppy shot today. They are on a mixture of half soaked and half hard kibble and are starting to eat three times a day. They also have a large crate in their puppy pen and usually all of them sleep in it at night!

F1b Goldendoodles-6 weeks done...2 to go HOME!

Well we are getting closer! Today they all got dewormed for the third time and they all received their first puppy shots. (DHPP). They are still on soaked kibble but we will now start adding dry too and work them to all dry by next week...their little puppy teeth are sure sharp!

F1 Goldendoodles-5 weeks old

YIPEE!!! Puppies are now weaned and pooping all over my kitchen-YUK! They are incredibly cute though. I have them in with the F1b puppies so its PUPPYPALOOZA here at the Mustard Seed Ranch. They are playing and eating (soaked kibble) and sleeping in their giant crate all together. Its very cute. Just three more weeks and they get to come home!!

F1b Goldendoodles-5 weeks down...3 to go...HOME!!

WOW. 5 weeks...only 3weeks till they come home...thats only 21 days.
The are so big. They are weaned from Mama now and eating softened kibble. They also have access to fresh water and dry hard kibble 24 hours a day. The moistened kibble is served fresh, 4 times daily. They are sleeping in a large pen at night with a large crate so they are learning to go in and out of it without fear. They are so much fun to play with. The kids are having a blast.

F1 Goldendoodles-4 weeks old!

WOW! 4 weeks, 28 days, 1/2 month...I cant believe it. The little guys are SO cute now...playing, barking, chasing, biting! Time will really fly now. All but three have their new families already-and many have their new names...They are eating canned food and formula and will start on formula soaked kibble now too. Mama is away from them all night now-starting the weaning process. They were also dewormed for the second time today along with Mama. New pics of the two available females are on our website!

F1b Goldendoodles-4 Weeks old!

Wow...1/2 way home already. Hard to believe!! They are SO cute. Playing, barking, chasing their tails, they now come when they see us too. Well three weeks already. They have their eyes open and are really starting to explore. They have had their first drinks of puppy formula (still getting the hang of it!) . We had to add a door onto their box as they are starting to escape already. Now is when the fun begins!!!

Well today the kids are three weeks old. Finally they look like puppies and act like puppies. Everyones eyes are open, they are crawling and playing, climbing out of their whelping box, chasing their tails even. Later today everyone will get their pictures taken and posted on our website and they will have their first taste of puppy formula. Its always fun watching them learn how to drink by licking ! Well the F1 doods are two weeks old today. New pics are already posted on our FOR SALE page. They are starting to open their eyes but no one has them completely open yet. They will be weighed again today and everyone will get their first deworming. This is where the fun starts. As soon as they open their eyes completely thats when they start to run around and play and start making trouble!!!

Wow..I cant believe its been two weeks already. Some have their eyes fully open, the others are partially opened. They are crawling and exploring and starting to move away from the nest to potty (thats a VERY good thing). One almost crawled out of the box already...I am not prepared for that yet!! Well we are still in the midst of puppy birthing but so far we have 3 girls and 3 boys-all seem to be cream but possible one each of gold (they are still wet of course). So far no curly coats either. Stay tuned for the final count....

Her temp is still 98.3 and she has rather restless last night (I woke up every two hours to check on her) and she has been fidgety today, and has even entered her whelping box twice...Give us another 24 hours and we should here the pitter patter of puppy feet...

Well Shayla's temp has dropped to 98.0 definately enough of a drop to indicate that she could go into labor in the next 24 hours. Not a lot of other signs but she is breathing heavily quite a bit! We will watch her closely throughout the day....(not like we wouldnt anyways!!!)

Well her temp is 98.4...thats a decent enough drop to indicate possible labor in the next 12-24 ours, but also a bit early so maybe not. She is pretty big though!! With Jaxxmine delivering in the middle of the night last night I am exhausted and would prefer to NOT be up all night tonight too!!! But...alas...its not up to me, is it???

F1 Goldendoodles-5 days and counting...

Temp is 99.7 today but I think another female is going to deliver in the next 24 hours...sometimes that encourages the others to follow along...we shall see...

F1b Goldendoodles-OVERDUE-But I think they are coming...

Well today her temp is 98.00 a decent drop. Big clue is that when I returned from picking my son up from preschool there was evidence she had been in her whelping box (has NOT been in there once before in a week) and she had been nesting! She is also licking a lot-all good signs. we should see puppies in 24 hours (or less!) Stay Tuned...

Shayla's temp was 99.8 today-not really expecting her to go early anyways, but she certainly acts closer to labor than her overdue friend in the other room!!!!

Well no good news to report, I am sorry to say! Temp is 98.9 and although she is restless at times still no BIG signals coming through...dont think it will be tonight.

F1 Goldendoodles-7 days and counting...

Well Shayla is huge and must be as ready as I am to get those puppies out!! Her temp is 98.8 today-not a huge drop and still early enough-and no additonal signs so I would say not for a few days still...

F1b Goldendoodles-OVERDUE...

Well I really hoped to be reporting at least that she was in labor-but alas, not yet. She was up half the night, very restless, but her temp is back at 99.8...looks like it wont be today, hopefully tomorrow!

Well her temp is 98.9 today-its a good sign, the first real drop. I am hoping we have puppies in the next 24hours...stay tuned...

Well temp today is 99.5...still no major nesting signs. On a side note I am feeling much better so I do appreciate her being considerate and NOT going into labor when I was SOOO sick. Did I mention last time she went two days overdue?? Maybe a pattern....
Eventually they will come out !!

Well temp is still 99.5-No Valentines Day babies-sorry! On the other hand I have the flu so cant say I am in any shape to deliver puppies today!!

Temp is 99.8 today so I dont think we will have Valentines Day babies (and I just made a whole list of LOVE names just in case!!). I did check my records for her last litter and it was 2 days past her due date...Remember that old Heinz ketchup commercial? ANTICIPATION>>>

F1b Goldendoodles-4 days and counting...

Well her temp is 99.8 so not tonight. She is acting a bit anxious though-but no nesting. In all likelihood though they are more apt to go late than early....So we wait.....

F1b Goldendoodles-5 days and counting...

Temp is 99.5 today so not gonna happen tonight....getting closer though! Although with this big storm coming through tonight-dams have been known to go into labor because of a storm. I will keep an extra close eye on her just in case-but no signs of serious nesting yet.

F1 Goldendoodles..14 days and counting...

Just two weeks to go for poor Shayla. I dont think she will make it that long-In fact she gave me a bit of a scare so we put up her whelping box a bit early. She seemed to appreciate it and has decided she likes it better than her bed. She seems to have gotten a second wind and is quite playful right now-even stealing our shepherds favorite toy every chance she gets!!

F1b Goldendoodles...6 days and counting

Well today Jazzmines temp is 99.1-still not low enough, although she gave me a scare last night! She is in my bedroom with her whelping box and in the middle of the night I heard some very suspicious grunts. A bit early I thought but got up nonetheless...but she was having doggie dreams thats all. Probably chasing a rabbit through the woods.
Most my Dams get ravenous in the last weeks of pregnancy-but not for dog food! We free feed all dogs over one year so they have access to food 24/7-but the Dams seem to CRAVE human food. I mean dogs that are normally very well behaved start jumping on the table and counters to get to food. Last night we had a family over to "Meet the Parents" and right in front of them Jazzmine jumped on the couch (she knows she is NOT allowed on furniture) and stole my sons biscuit!! I think in the last few days Jazzmine has eaten more of Christians food than Christian has!!
Cant be too much longer now.....

F1b Pups-7 Days and counting...

Well we have 7 days to go. Jazzmines temperature was 99.8 today. A dams temperature will take a drastic drop (usually) about 12-24 hours before labor starts so we will be taking her temperature everyday from here on out. A dogs gestation period is only 62 days so they are usually within a day or two either direction of their due date. We have decided just in case they do come on Monday February 16th (Presidents Day) we will go with Presidentail names instead.

F1 Goldendoodles are almost here...

Just a little over two weeks till Shayla and Murphys F1 litter. Mama is doing great but she is HUGE! I wouldn't be surprised if there were 10 or even more puppies...only time will tell.

Well we have just over a week to go till Jazzmine and Murphys pups are due. Mom is doing well-not very active during the day and beginning to get more nocturnal (all good signs). We have decided to go with the theme "Bristish Gentry Titles" for this litter...Cant wait to meet them all!!!
